Psalm 25
Aidan, Bishop of Lindisfarne, Missionary, 651
Aidan was an Irish monk who ministered to the English in Northumbria.  He came to Lindisfarne from Iona in 635 leaving "the island he loved, the companionship of his brothers, their prayer and work" because, in his heart, he heard the cry of the people there for help.   "O Lord," he prayed, "give me springs and I will water this land.  I will go, Lord.  I will hold this people in my heart."  From Celtic Daily Prayer:  Inspirational prayers & readings from the Northumbria Community.

Drawing from his deep prayer life, Aidan shared Christ's love throughout Northumbria with gentleness and faithfulness.

I can imagine Aidan meditating on Psalm 25, calling on the God in whom he had put his hope, as he walked from village to village stopping to speak to all he met regardless of their status. Perhaps today we can emulate Aidan and meditate on this Psalm as we travel from place to place throughout our day and encounter others along the way.

Show me your ways, O Lord :
 and teach me your paths.
Lead me in the ways of your truth, and teach me :
for you are the God of my salvation.
In you have I hoped all the day long :
because of your goodness, O Lord.
